Job Description
There role is 35 hours per week on a Monday to Friday basis - based at Gartcraig Depot you should have a flexible approach to working patterns and hours. In you will be an operational team member responsible for the development; installation; maintenance and monitoring of the City’s Street Lighting Network to meet service targets and enforce compliance with electrical regulations & technical standards. The post will also require the flexibility to assist Lighting projects and other Service streams to transform Glasgow City Council’s Street lighting estate, investing in LED technology/infrastructure to develop a safe, reliable energy efficient lighting network.
it is essential that you have a Degree/HND/HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. However, a SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering demonstrating qualifying criteria for Technician Electrician or Approved Electrician status will also be considered. You should also have a BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition and a valid Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card supported with Health and Safety Assessment Certificate. It is essential to have a current driving licence.
You should also have a sound working knowledge of current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards and Codes of Practice to electrical distribution and be able to support budgetary control and monitor performance against targets.
