Job Description

This is a fixed term post until 02/02/2025.

As this is term-time, part-time post the salary will be pro-rata to the hours worked.

Reporting directly to the Head Teacher you will have responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive clerical and administration service supporting the operations of Goldenhill Primary School.

You will ensure the smooth running of the school office and provide a welcoming and efficient reception service whilst responding to all enquiries via telephone or from visitors to the establishment. In addition, you will manage and maintain school data ensuring all information is up to date and accurately recorded on computerised systems.

General office duties will include photo-copying, filing, document preparation, mail recording/distribution, assisting with the arrangement of transport and trips/outings and routine cash handling duties e.g. receiving and recording payments for school activities, uniforms etc. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
