We are seeking a new team member to provide administrative support, as required. The focus of this role will be financial, and so a background in bookkeeping would be a distinct advantage. The position will be part time, and can include hybrid and flexible working.
Place of Work: The Rockfield Centre, Oban
Reporting to: The Board of Trustees of Oban Communities Trust (OCT)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Rate: £14 an hour or higher, depending on experience.
Opportunity: Oban Communities Trust area a community benefit society who operate the
Rockfield Centre, a community arts and culture hub in the heart of Oban. The centre is home to
a number of diverse community groups, and is actively engaged in promoting community
engagement and participation. We are seeking a new team member to provide administrative
support, as required. The focus of this role will be financial, and so a background in
bookkeeping would be a distinct advantage. The position will be part time, and can include
hybrid and flexible working.
Role: The role will entail, but is not restricted to:
- Timely and accurate processing of income and expense transactions to SAGE, including
VAT.
- Monitoring of accounts email and responding to emails
- Sales invoice generation and credit control
- Processing of staff expenses
- Supplier payment management
- Recording and banking of till cash
- Record management
- Maintenance of efficient finance filing system to support annual audit and
- Liaise with auditor/ statutory accountant to provide data as request
- Processing payroll
- Work with other team members to provide information required for preparation of
monthly management accounts.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bookkeeping / financial records processing
- Experience with finance software (Sage, Xero, or Quickbooks)
- Use of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a small team
- Time management skills
- Ability to self-motivate, and work independently
- Attention to detail
