We are looking for an experienced Reporting Officer to join our team at our rendering plant on the Isle of North Uist. As the companies reporting officer you will be responsible for liaison with local authorities and national governing bodies regarding the operation of the site, collection of data, its analysis and the submission of timely reports.

 

Who are we:

The North Uist facility aims to ensure a full circle renewable process for the by-products of the fish farm industry. The plant recycles the by-product into oil used for bio diesel, condensate liquid for fertilisation of machair land, and MBM for combustion in our furnace and at other facilities. Now in the latter stages of commissioning we are looking to expand our team, specifically for someone to fill the exciting role of Reporting Officer (part time).

Job description:

The role of reporting officer involves interaction with SEPA, APHA and other governing bodies ensuring the relevant waste handling information is formally communicated. Maintaining thorough records of the company's production data and documentation is a crucial part of the job; it must be done logically and analytically. The position will entail keeping permit specialists and environmental officers informed about the company's performance on a regular basis. The job consists of a 24hour week which can be completed in three days or spread over five depending on the applicants wishes.
 

Key responsibilities:

-Ensure permit conditions are adhered to and information surrendered at the correct times.
-Monitor environmental practises and liaise with SEPA and APHA as required.
-Fulfil reporting requirements in accordance with SEPA Permit (this will be explained).
-Complete company invoicing and financial filing. (full training provided)
-Auditing site facilities/procedures and assessing risk to the environment.
-Complete, maintain and amend risk assessments, operating procedures, and company protocols regarding health and safety.
 

 

Requirements

Key skills required:

-Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
-Experience in maintaining spreadsheets and inputting data.
-Excellent organisational and time management skills.
-IT literate, able to coherently use all Microsoft office software as well as structure professional, formal emails.
-Self-motivated and proactive attitude.
-Willingness to learn, adapt and grow with the role as it evolves is essential.

Experience required: 

-Previous administration experience essential.
-Knowledge of SEPA and APHA procedures and regulations advantageous.
-Understanding of health and safety procedures and documentation.
 

 

Starting salary:  £ 34,000 pro rata basis.            Closing date: 01/01/25
