What is the role?

Under the direction of the Chief Social Work Officer the post holder will have direct line management responsibility for all Practice Development Officers, Quality Assurance Officers, and the Corporate Parenting Lead Officer. They will provide professional oversight and supervision with an emphasis on leading the practice development team to promote excellence in Social Work and Social Care practice.

The post holder will also develop and sustain positive links with key educational and regulatory bodies and ensure practice improvement is rooted in evidence, excellent practice, a professional ethical framework, and an ongoing commitment to promoting a positive learning culture across the Partnership.

The post holder will also be a key member of the Social Work Governance Board as well as representing the CSWO on several key strategic groups that operate across the HSCP in both children and adult services.

The Service Manager will model professional Social Work values and be confident in the management of complex ethical issues across children’s services, justice services and adult services.

Extra Information:

The Grade of this post is Grade 4 / Level 14; the hourly rate is from £32.36 to £34.33 and the annual salary is from £59,057 to £62,652.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
