Serco have a great opening for a Site Technical Manager to join the team in the Shetland Isles to support the maintenance of the TPS-77 Radar at RRH Saxa Vord. 

 

Your main purpose will be to lead a team to maintain the TPS-77 Radar at the RRH radar site ensuring that KPI targets, quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met at site. You will manage the radar sites security, building custodian, work services, crypto usage and maintain the operational capability of the site. 


Main responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Recognised as an experienced TPS-77 engineer within the business, providing specialist engineering advice, guidance and Management to the site Radar Engineering personnel in all areas of maintenance, radar support and system setup of the TPS -77 radar system.
  • Responsible for delivering 95% availability of both the Primary and Secondary radar systems. 
  • Typically has 10 year experience of supporting and deploying the TPS-77 radar systems
  • Understands and delivers industry best practice with regards to radar support.
  • Leads and managers a small team  to deliver radar availability at remote radar sites.
  • Deliver 1st/ 2nd line Preventative maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar Systems
  • Deliver 1st/ 2nd and 3rd line Corrective maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar System
  • Responsible for quality compliance, safety, and engineering obligations at TPS-77 radar site.
  • Engaging with the RAF customer and their representatives
  • Provide out of hours call out to support radar availability when required
  • Responsible for Liaising with DIO to deliver building custodian duties
  • Responsible for Management and review radar technical manual
  • Responsible for Management all tools and test equipment required to support at radar site. 
  • Support the System Technical Manger to maximise the overall system availability
  • Responsible for Management of Spares inventory at the radar site.
  • Provide a site support to Lockheed Martin when required

 

What you’ll need to do the role:

 

  • Holds recognised Electronics and electrical Qualification.
  • Required OEM technical training
  • At least 10 years TPS-77 radar experience
  • Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with RAF personnel on the radar sites.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Proven track record in maintaining the TPS-77 radar. 
  • Understanding RAF processes 
  • Proven track record of successful maintaining radar systems.
  • Proven practical and pragmatic understanding of service delivery.
  • Working with and Managing a team, 
  • Communicating with customers.
  • Innovative thinker.
  • Customer retention/satisfaction.
  • Understanding delivery of radar availability
  • SC/DV Security clearance.
