Corporate Services
ICT System and Support Adminstrator - Fixed term until 31/3/2026
Waverley Court
Salary: £28,046 - £32,010
Hours: 36 per week
Do you have a real interest in technology and a strong understanding of IT systems? Have you got practical experience in supporting IT systems to ensure they meet the needs of the people who use them to deliver key services to customers? Do you have an eye for detail and a proven track record in ICT service and project delivery?
Are you customer-focussed, willing to go the extra mile, and flexible in your approach to work? If this sounds like you, then the City of Edinburgh Council has an exciting fixed-term opportunity within our Digital Services Team.
Working as part of the Social Care Support Team you will be involved in providing high standards of systems support to users, helping to deliver business change, and maintaining high standards of business-as-usual operations within the Team.
Day-to-day workload will be focussed on systems used within the Council's Social Care services, such as Swift/AIS, Total Mobile for Home Care, Equipment Loans Management System and others. The work you do will support the business areas who deliver critical front-line services
The successful applicant will be expected to draw on a range of existing skills and experience and to develop these further. You will have an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the ICT environment within the Council in general and in Social Care in particular.
Further details of the Job Description, requirements and responsibilities are provided in the Job Description and Generic Person Specification documents attached.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience of one or more of the core systems detailed above and /or experience in delivering ICT support. An understanding of the business processes in one or more of the social care services is also desirable.
You will have good communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines. You should have the ability to manage multiple tasks whilst being creative and innovative in providing solutions to digital challenges. You should be flexible, proactive and customer driven.
As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our Behaviours – The City of Edinburgh Council
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
