At St Joseph's RC PS, we place our children at the centre of all we do - believing that in the right environment where everyone’s needs are recognised and met, everyone can learn and grow. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive staff team who are committed to providing a safe, secure and inclusive environment for all. A key role will be to develop positive relationships with learners, parents and the community to ensure all family needs are being me . They will show commitment to promoting health and wellbeing of all our pupils and families and help us to further develop a nurturing inclusive school where every individual is valued. This role will also involve you taking individuals or groups of pupils to do a range of interventions and supporting learners H&WB in the playground during breaks and lunch.

St Joseph’s RC Primary School is the Roman Catholic School in the west of Edinburgh serving an area from Carrickknowe and Forrester Park in the north to Clovenstone in the south and Balgreen in the east.

There are currently 10 primary classes and 39 nursery children.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Pupil Support Officer to join our vibrant team.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
