Days and times of work are to be confirmed.
Days of work are negotiable, starting and finishing times are flexible, and flexi time is applicable.
To start January 2025.

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration

Job Details

To lead on development and delivery of an ELC equalities and diversity action plan relating to employees and employment practices. The action plan aims to promote and embed fair equality practices relating to employment, addressing conduct, and attitudes in the workplace. It will identify, deliver, and track equality related training to meet the actions identified, and ensure compliance with employment legislation.

To promote and embed positive practices and attitudes that will ensure that employees are treated in a way that is positive and inclusive.

To ensure the Council complies with its statutory obligations as an employer and as required by equalities legislation, and work with key stakeholders to promote and support equality and diversity in employment.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject e.g. in HR; Law, Social Science or equivalent experience working in HR; employment law or equality related subject. 

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

Disclosure
The preferred candidate for this position may be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
