The Distribution System Operations (DSO) Network Operation team enable Network Access and share Energy Data central to the operations of a DSO. Core to the duties of this team is this role of Network Product Manager.
In this role you will co-ordinate the evolution of our operational capabilities to scale these efficiently to meet our ED2 targets and deliver on the DSO incentive. You'll support operational and wholesale co-ordination and provide subject matter expertise to internal and external innovation projects and new concepts.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing access rights and obligations for 3.9 million customers, DNOs and IDNOs to ensure the safe and reliable operation of a smart electricity network.
- Supporting operational co-ordination between DSO and DNO and support scaling operational coordination to deliver network flexibility. You'll also support wider DSO teams with operational challenges and the development of DNO and DSO relationships.
- Providing operational support and subject matter expertise to the wider DSO team. Support our innovation project teams, flexibility services and markets team with operational knowledge and expertise. Giving insight on the impact of day-to-day network operations of all our new concepts and activities.
- Leading on NESO and wholesale market co-ordination with DSO. Provide subject matter expertise to DSO teams and manage the relationship between NESO and DSO operational teams.
- Tracking customer behaviour within the market to ensure our operational activities are efficient.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Awareness of the key stakeholders, their drivers and how to influence in electricity distribution and energy ancillary services/flexibility and energy systems digitalisation.
- A solid understanding of DNO/DSO and NESO daily network operations.
- A solid understanding of flexibility products and services.
- Minimum HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Political awareness and the ability to network (internally and externally) to represent the interests of SSEN and effectively engage with key stakeholders.
