Job Description
To co-ordinate the implementation and delivery of the Scottish and Local Government’s ambition to reduce child poverty through the delivery of activities via our Progress for Parents Project. Deliver a flexible, responsive and user-led model of employability support for participants both in and out of employment. This support will help participants to access or progress in employment bettering their and their families’ circumstances, ultimately reducing child poverty rates.
The focus is on increasing income for low-income families. Some families may have more than one of these family type characteristics and the barriers are higher as a result. For those reasons the Progress for Parents project will on focus support to these family types:
- Lone parents
- Families with a disabled parent or child
- Families with three or more children
- Minority Ethnic Families
- Families where the youngest child is under 1 year of age
- Families where the parents are under 25
Requirements
Develop and maintain key information and quality systems.
Liaise and negotiate with all relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring and evaluation of the project
Provide comprehensive co-ordination and delivery of the project.
Provide Line Management to Keyworkers (Progress for Parents team)
The Individual
- Experience of working with stakeholders from public, private and third sector
- Knowledge and understanding of grant-funded projects
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft packages Word and Excel and client information databases
- Experience of working with one of more of the following: adults with disabilities, mental health issues, unemployed, household with children in poverty, low skilled and underemployed
- Educated to Degree level (SCQF level 9 or above) and/or equivalent work experience.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Confidence and ability to work with a minimum of supervision and using own initiative.
- Effective time management skills
- Team worker
- Financial management and project development skills
- Ability to relate to people at all levels
- Appreciation, acceptance and commitment to the importance of confidentiality
- Ability to work in an open place office.
- Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service

Starting Salary: £37,209.90
£19.74 per hour
36.25 hours per week
