As a G4S Cash Processing Supervisor (Senior Cashier) in the Glasgow team, you will be at the very heart of our operation. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining the integrity of the audit trail into, within and out of the Processing department at all times. You will need to be confident working to stringent procedures designed to ensure that our service remains superior, and that our customer requirements are met with optimum efficiency.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
The Role

 

You will join a team of specialist Cash Processors and be responsible for supervising cashiers in the department and to manage the workflow within the department in line with expected productivity, timelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs). It’s important to maintain a standard of cleanliness and organisation (following the 5S principles) on the shop floor with all staff, regardless of cleaners. 


Our Cash Processing Supervisors (Senior Cashiers) must manage staff to maintain the highest level of customer care and productivity, communicate effectively with internal suppliers and customers (e.g. vault) to ensure cash is supplied & taken in a controlled and efficient manner, ensure that all relevant legislative and Company procedures and standards (Health and Safety, Security) are adhered to. You’ll also:


●  Undertake training of Cashiers where necessary and identify any training requirements to line manager.
●  Substitute for the Section Manager when required. 
●  Monitor, publish and communicate processing rates on an hourly basis if required.
●  Verify and authorise discrepancies, claims paperwork, unclaimable losses and supporting documentation and investigate potential causes.
●  Proactively provide input to productivity gains and waste elimination opportunities.
●  Produce documentation to support effective handover between shifts
●  Investigate and report on equipment faults to assure timely rectification action.
●  Ensure audit compliance: be responsible for adherence to the audit requirements and the correction of any failures/shortfalls in score in a structured format.
●  Undertake other duties that may reasonably be assigned to you by your line manager or the business.

 

Person Specification
So what makes a successful Cash Processing Supervisor (Senior Cashier)?
To succeed as a G4S Cash Processing Supervisor, you will need to be confident when communicating with customers and colleagues in both written and spoken English, to ensure the smooth running of the area. An appropriate level of numeracy is also very important, and you will be adept following specific procedures and instructions and be able to work to tight deadlines. We ideally seek:


●  Previous experience working in a cashier/cash handling role or production environment and a working knowledge of cash processes and equipment, would be extremely beneficial but is not essential. As would supervisory experience or demonstrable

      leadership qualities and using IT and computer systems.
●  You will need the ability to motivate and influence others, you will also need to be competent in training others.
●  You must be continuously focused on providing a top notch service to our customers by being efficient, flexible and at all times security conscious.
●  You’ll need to have good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines, with  good attention to detail.

We also have some specific security criteria that you will need to meet:

  • You must be able to pass a criminal record check as well as a personal credit and ID check.
  • You’ll need to provide 10-year employment/unemployment/educational history that we can check and verify.
  • You will need to be prepared to undergo airport style searches when entering and leaving our premises and be comfortable working within a secure warehouse environment.
  • An SIA licence would be beneficial.

This role will be subject to a medical review, which may include a medical assessment with an occupational health practitioner. We will provide all the training and support to help you to progress as a key member of our world-class team.
