We are recruiting for a Sustainability Officer to join our Sustainability and Development Team.
Hybrid role to be based at any of our offices: Barcaldine, Stirling, Shetland, Orkney

We are recruiting for a Sustainability Officer to join our Sustainability and Development Team. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Development, you will work closely with the Principal Sustainability Officer to:
- Maintain sustainability data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity for regulatory reporting and internal KPI tracking
- Draft and manage content for annual reports, including CSRD and ISSB disclosures
- Address sustainability data requests from customers and investors
- Conduct GHG emissions accounting, manage relationships with consultants, and oversee data provision for SECR, ESOS, and Climate Change Agreements
- Oversee data provision for Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) including carbon footprint calculations.
Implement and report on the company's energy action plan, supporting the transition to net-zero - Develop Scope 3 reduction plans through stakeholder collaboration to promote sustainable practices throughout the value chain
- Manage submissions and reporting for the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- Advise and support various business functions in driving sustainability initiatives to help meet the company's sustainability targets
- Contribute to sustainable development through conducting climate change assessments and identifying and scoping biodiversity enhancement initiatives for development projects
Essential | The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in a sustainability-related field such as environmental science, sustainability, business, finance, or economics with a sustainability focus
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., TCFD, CSRD, ISSB, SASB, GRI)
- Familiarity with the evolving landscape of ESG regulations and reporting requirements
- Understanding of the GHG Protocol and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Effective writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in managing sustainability projects and initiatives.
