Smart Field Services plays a key role within ScottishPower’s Customer Business, on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes, to deliver our annual smart meter installation targets as we transition to a greener future. The Operational Planning Lead will work on short, medium and long term operational plans, and work within the wider department to install c.400k meters per annum. The role may suit a graduate level entry looking for an opportunity within a collaborative and inclusive working environment, for a company who can offer real career development that meets personal and professional goals.

What you’ll be doing

Based in our offices outside of Glasgow, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work as part of a dynamic and exciting team, delivering a GB-wide smart meter deployment. We need our Operational Planning Lead to be inquisitive and passionate about building relationships and solving problems. The role includes the following activities:

  • Budget management, reporting and cost forecasting
  • Develop and maintain KPI and other reporting requirements
  • Support the governance meeting framework, including creation of meeting packs and materials
  • Support the wider team with improvement plans and tracking of initiatives
  • Forecasting/planning, including appointments, stock requirements, and meter installations
  • Analysis of results, and assisting with action plans to address issues and improve performance

What you’ll bring

We are seeking an individual who wants to develop their existing skillset across a wide range of activities:

  • Financial/budgeting reporting skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Ability to design, implement and maintain KPI and other reports
  • Eager to learn and share knowledge across internal teams and external parties
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain complex problems
  • Analytical skills required for problem solving
