About this opportunity
Be part of a team that is purpose driven, customer focused, agile and friendly and accountable for providing legal advice across the business on a very broad range of employment issues.
Join the HR Legal team within Group Legal to support the People & Places Function and our wider LBG businesses, supporting those who support our customers.
Here's how you'll make the difference in this exciting role:
Be required to proactively identify and manage key employment legal risks and their implications for LBG so that you can support the business with pragmatic, solution focused advice;
Have an ability to rapidly switch between different issues and priorities;
Have the autonomy to handle your own workload and you’ll also work across teams;
Support the senior lawyers in the team and the Head of HR Legal to ensure appropriate cover according to team and business needs;
Share knowledge across the team and continually develop your skills; and
Support the team’s initiative to provide training to the People team on relevant legal topics.
More broadly, you’ll:
Support strategic activities of the Legal & Secretariat Function which align to LBG's purpose, strategy and culture.
Demonstrate our values and behaviours to support our culture; and
Build and maintain a strong internal network and key customer and colleague connections.
About us

What you'll need
Legally qualified with 6+ years' PQE and skills in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, gained, ideally, in an established in-house legal team or a leading private practice firm
Employment Tribunal case management experience
Someone with strong commercial awareness and an ability to build deep customer relationships by having a customer focussed approach
Someone with a growth mindset, curious to learn and develop yourself to acquire the skills of the future; and
Wanting to develop your internal personal profile and network, including within Legal & Secretariat and with business customers

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
