Mowi Feed is the feed manufacturing division within Mowi, the Global leader in salmon farming, processing and marketing. Having entered production in June 2014, Mowi Feed has quickly established itself as a competitive supplier of salmon feed playing a key role in supporting Mowi Farming in its delivery of high quality, nutritious, safe and sustainable salmon.
Currently operating from its factories in Kyleakin, Isle of Skye in Scotland and in Valsneset in the Trøndelag Region of Norway, Mowi Feed has an annual production volume in the order of 600,000 tonnes per year. We manufacture a broad portfolio of conventional and organic feeds for both fresh and seawater phases of salmon growth in Scotland, Ireland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Norway.
The Role – Assistant Supply Chain Planner (1 year fixed term contract)
Mowi Feed is seeking a structured and highly motivated Assistant Planner for its supply chain, to ensure all materials and plans are in place to keep production running in the most cost effective and efficient ways, as well as ensuring all orders are met on time in full.
Role and Responsibilities:
In co-operation with team members, the Assistant Planner will:
- work to ensure cost-effective utilisation of feed vessels, delivery planning, route planning and cost control, as well as learning to receive and efficiently plan the storage of raw materials for feed production;
- assist in maintaining accurate stock records and end to end traceability;
- assist with the creation of manufacturing orders, and closing of orders once production is complete;
- be responsible for day-to-day management of the haulage booking system, and for ensuring paperwork is in place and completed for all incoming and outgoing products;
- assist with the administration of export paperwork and operations;
- be responsible for the continuous development of processes.
The role will support both the Supply Chain Planner & Planning Manager for all inbound and outbound logistics.
- Previous experience working in logistics/planning would be an advantage;
- Computer skills and proficiency with MS Office are required;
- Experience with M3 and ESC, or similar system management tools/reporting systems, is an advantage but training can be provided;
- Good communication skills are essential, which requires fluency in English, both written and spoken, to build positive relationships both internally and externally;
- The post holder also requires:

The place of work will be in Mowi Fish Feed Plant at Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye and the position reports to the Planning Manager.
