Job Description
Could you be instrumental in enabling people whose homelessness is made harder by experiences such as trauma, addictions and mental health problems? Are you the kind of person who wants more out of your job?? As a Housing First Support Worker with Aberdeenshire Council, you will work alongside a team of professionals within Aberdeenshire Housing Service. You will be involved in providing specialist support to clients who have a history of homelessness or young people who have been identified as without support they are likely to be on the cycle of homelessness. Our Housing First project has been recognised as one of the largestHousing First programmes in Scotland and recently published outcomes would indicate the project makes a difference to everyone supported via the programme in relation to reduction in offending, stabilisation or reduction in use of substances, tenancy sustainment and improved health outcomes.
As an employer, Aberdeenshire Council will provide, and fund all required training including facilitation and attainment of an SVQ3 qualification if the postholder does not hold the recognised qualification for SSSC registration.
This post includes home visits and may involve out of hours working.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
A full current driving licence is required.
This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.Working with Aberdeenshire Council
