We’re looking for a General Ledger Assistant in the Commercial finance function to support the day-to-day management of the General Ledger.  The position will be based out of our Lomondgate site and work on hybrid basis. The position will report to the General Ledger Lead and will be key to successfully managing transactions across capital build and spares.

What you’ll do:

  • Bank & Cash Management: Post weekly bank transactions, reconcile currencies (Euro, USD, GBP), monitor cash flow, and manage weekly cash flow forecasts in Tagetik.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Code accounts payable IC invoices, maintain IC recharge spreadsheets, raise and upload spares and capital build invoices, and handle AUFL settlements.
  • Month-End Processes: Conduct GL cleansing, post standard journals, manage IC accruals, review postings for errors, and balance AUFL loan statements.
  • IC Statement Management: Complete checks of all IC statements, advise divisions on corrections, request missing invoices, and document commentary in SharePoint.
  • Fixed Asset Oversight: Maintain Asset Under Construction (AUC), capitalize assets as needed, run depreciation, and manage the Capex register and asset disposals.
  • Quarterly Verification: Conduct quarterly physical verification of fixed assets and review projects for budget compliance.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Part Qualified Accountant or Qualified by experience.
  • Experience working within a similar transactional finance position.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • A proactive and can-do attitude
  • Experience of M3 Cloudsuite, Tagetik and Basware would be advantageous
