Job Description
An exciting opportunity is now available. As part of the development of Aberdeenshire's Bairns' Hoose, we are now recruiting for a Bairns' Hoose Employee Development Officer. The successful candidate will be central to the development of Aberdeenshire's Bairns' Hoose, with a leading role in the learning and development of multi-agency staff with a focus on Child Protection. This will support to ensure all children, young people and their families receive trauma informed and child focused intervention throughout their Bairns' Hoose journey. The post holder will be key in bringing together the multi-agency workforce to understand training needs and gaps aligned with the Bairns' Hoose and Child Protection. They will be enthusiastic and confident in developing and delivering training via different methods on behalf of the Child Protection Committee and Bairns’ Hoose Oversight Group.
The post holder will be part of an experienced and supportive Performance Team with a focus and drive to deliver improved outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
Fixed term for a period not exceeding 31 March 2026.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
