About the role
Join our Power Commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor and take part in delivering complex, high-impact projects, including the ASTI scheme, a critical initiative to enhance the reliability and capacity of Scotland’s overhead line network.
Ideal Locations: Inverness, Aberdeenshire, Dundee
Role Purpose:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide accurate cost advice, manage risks, and optimize project profitability.
What you'll be doing
- Collate costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works
- Deliver varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain
- Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers
- Create and maintain commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders
- Contract administration with both client and subcontractors
- Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
- Proactively drive career and personal development, including professional certification
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities/experience:
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
- Experience with key contracts such as NEC
- Good communication skills
- Great Teamwork / Role Model
- Leadership skills

- Business and Customer Awareness
- Applies organisational aims & objectives
- Identifies with the customer needs
- Recognises opportunities & threats
- Experience working on NEC 3 & 4 Contracts
