The successful candidate will deliver engaging Gaelic singing lessons, fostering an appreciation for Gaelic language and music within a vibrant Scottish cultural setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners, promote Gaelic heritage, and develop their musical and linguistic skills. <br /><br /><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong> <br /> Plan and deliver age-appropriate Gaelic singing lessons to primary school pupils. <br /> Introduce pupils to traditional and contemporary Gaelic songs, promoting cultural understanding. <br /> Integrate Gaelic language learning with musical activities to enhance language acquisition. <br /> Create a fun, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages active participation. <br /> Collaborate with school staff to align lessons with the curriculum and school cultural initiatives. <br /> Support the development of students' musical skills, confidence, and cultural awareness. <br /> Organise or participate in school performances, cultural events, and Gaelic language celebrations. <br /> Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff. <br /><br /><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong> <br /> Proven experience teaching music, preferably with a focus on Gaelic or Scottish cultural music. <br /> Strong singing ability and familiarity with traditional Gaelic songs. <br /> Knowledge of Gaelic language and culture is highly desirable. <br /> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. <br /> Ability to inspire and motivate young learners. <br /> Creative and adaptable teaching style suited to diverse learning needs. <br /> Relevant qualifications in music, education, or Gaelic studies are preferred. </p><p>Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.<br /><br />This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
