JOB TITLE: Private Banking Lending Manager

Ready to shape the future of lending in Private Banking? We’re looking for a proactive and relationship-driven individual to join our Specialised Lending Team as a Private Banking Specialist Lender. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of our lending operations, delivering exceptional outcomes for high-value clients while helping shape the future of our lending proposition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively manage and develop relationships with key internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner.

  • Identify and resolve shortcomings in compliance and distribution processes to enhance customer service.

  • Collaborate with lending colleagues to manage important external introducer relationships.

  • Build and maintain a productive working relationship with Wealth Credit Risk to support the delivery of outstanding customer outcomes.

  • Provide input into the development of improved procedures to enhance the customer lending journey.

  • Offer operational support to senior managers through non-routine activities using established programmes and protocols.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

This role has been identified as a Functions requiring qualifications under SYSC 27.8.10R as defined in the FCA Handbook.(1) Each function involving an activity for which there is a qualification requirement as specified in TC App 1.1.1R (Activities and Products/Sectors to which TC applies) is an FCA certification function.(2) A person performs the FCA certification function in this rule even if:   (a) the time period within which the person must have obtained the qualification requirement has not yet expired; or   (b) the person is exempt from the qualification requirement.

If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
