ILM Highland is a forward-thinking, sustainable social enterprise with charitable status, based in Alness in the Highlands of Scotland. We deliver a range of impactful services that make a real difference to the communities we serve. We are seeking a dynamic individual to oversee the Finance function within the ILM Highland Group.
Job Description
To compile and present management accounts, including relevant KPIs, by week 3 of the following month.
Lead and oversee the Finance Department, managing finance staff and supporting their training and development.
Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
Manage banking relationships and oversee cashflow.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of PAYE and VAT, returns, pension matters, and insurance renewals.
Record and manage staff leave (sick leave, annual leave).
Develop and maintain company finance procedures.
Work closely with the CEO to support reporting and communication with the Board of Directors.
The role also includes responsibilities as Company Secretary.
As Company Secretary: - Organise the Company AGM, Prepare and complete all Companies House Filings, Annual Confirmation Statement (CS01) Annual Accounts and relevant documentation and Notifications of changes to directors, Maintain the Register of Directors and Submit returns to OSCR.
Build strong working relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
Take a flexible approach to additional duties as required.
Requirements
Significant experience of providing financial information at a senior level, including the preparation of management accounts.
Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with significant experience in preparing accurate and timely management and year-end accounts.
Experience of working with accountancy software packages, ILM currently uses Xero, Dext, Lightspeed and Woo-Commerce.
Good Excel skills.
A good knowledge of MS365.
Staff management experience.
Demonstrate a track record of effective working with the public sector and /or private sector
The Finance Manager will work closely across all areas of the organisation, liaising with auditors and the Board of Directors, while also managing finance staff.
