Estate Forester,
Kinnordy Estate, Angus
The right individual should be:
A team player with good communication skills, also happy working alone when necessary.
Approachable, friendly and able to work with the estate team, outside contractors, tenants and members of the local community.
Description of role:
Survey and inspect trees, managing safety issues as they arise.
Chainsaw tree felling, including windblow
To provide support for other Estate staff, and work as part of the Estate maintenance team.
Use of smaller forestry machinery including tractor winch, timber trailers, woodchipper and firewood processor.
Planting of young trees as required.
Works to control invasive species, including spraying.
Landscaping as required, to include driveway repairs and small fencing repairs.
Provision of woodchip and fire logs for Kinnordy House.
Maintain the Estate equipment provided for your role.
While the above skills are desirable, the right individual is more important. Training will be provided as necessary to the right candidate.
Hours – Full time
Compensation: Dependent on experience,
Accommodation: Could be provided as part of a package.
Requirements
Skills required:
Experienced chainsaw operator
Experience driving a tractor
Skilled in the operation of small forestry equipment.
Must hold valid UK drivers’ license.
Skills/ qualifications desirable:
PA1 and PA6 chemical spraying and CS30/CS31 certificates desirable.
CS32 Larger tree felling
CS34/35 Wind blow felling
PA6AW - spraying near a watercourse.
