Stirling Council is looking for a Sustainable Infrastructure Project Officer to play a key role in the delivery of major and strategic projects across Stirling, and improving the region’s connectivity and economic ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major projects, help fulfil our policy and network aims and objectives, and ensure the infrastructure delivered in Stirling is safe and resilient.
We are looking for a person with experience in the delivery of roads and transportation projects, and with ambitions to gain experience in this area and others, whilst working towards professional status. You will:
- Take a lead on projects, including the preparation of programmes defining timescales which identify and adhere to project requirements and Council responsibilities.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams of internal and external resources, and the related procurement activities to appoint external service providers and specialists.
- Ensure that designs are compliant with all national design policy documents and Council standards whilst seeking innovative best practice in design.
- Undertake and support the team with investigating, developing, and evaluating design solutions on the basis of their value and impact on the environment, safety, economy, integration, accessibility, quality of design, and ease of construction.
- Work with the councils Roads Design Team, and other internal teams, and with contractors, consultants to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Support colleagues and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the service.
