Main Purpose of the Role
Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job, it's about being part of something meaningful. It's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.
We currently have the following opportunity:
Senior Clerical Assistant - PKC13163 (Fixed Term until 30 June 2026) - PKC13245
£26,090 - £27,498
2 High Street, Perth
Are you interested in a career in Human Resources? If the answer is yes, we have a great opportunity for you to start your HR career with us in People & Culture. The role is fixed term but who knows where it could take you!
As part of a small team within the wider People & Culture Team, we are looking for a Senior Clerical Assistant to assist with processing supply worker requests, Disclosure Scotland checks and medical referrals of new and existing employees.
This role is vital to the organisation to ensure that our employees have the appropriate level of safeguarding in place when providing services to the people in the Perth & Kinross area.
You will be responsible for sending the appropriate Disclosure requests to new and existing employees, updating and maintaining PVG and Disclosure spreadsheets, assisting with pre-employment checks and adding new supply workers to the Supply Portal and processing any medical referrals within the occupational health system (OHIO). You will provide advice on supply terms and conditions and PVG and Disclosure Scotland queries. You will be required to communicate via telephone, email, MS Teams and in person.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have previous customer service experience, with good communication skills and be comfortable communicating with employees and managers at all levels within the Council. You will have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams. Due to the nature of the role, attention to detail is essential, along with ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). There is an element of the role that is deadline driven and requires you to be able to respond to requests quickly and efficiently. You must be able to plan and organise your work, whilst ensuring that you work as part of a team.
Ideally you will have knowledge of the PVG Scheme and Disclosure Scotland checks and be familiar with Supply worker agreements.
This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in HR, if this sounds like the job for you, please do apply.
