As Highland Broadband continue to help more rural communities in the Highlands get better connected. We are looking for flexible, customer-focused individuals to join our installations teams in the Highlands. This role will be based in the Fort William area with some travel expected.
We are looking for team members who are happy to work outside and be on the front line of our service, installing fibre network connections to our customers' properties. You will be an advocate of the brand and comfortable to talk to customers about installing fibre.
Reporting to the area Service Delivery Manager you will carry out work as part of a scheduled appointment diary. This role is part of a busy team deploying the rapid rollout of ultra-fast fibre networks in rural towns and villages across Scotland.
What you'll do
- Carrying out excavation works through customers’ gardens (digging small trenches)
- Attend customer properties to introduce Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) services by pulling / blowing cables through underground networks from cabinets or chambers to customer properties.
- Liaise with customers to discuss all routing through their gardens / property before commencing activities.
- Clear blockages in customer properties by way of soft excavations.
- Work on overhead network, where required.
- Complete internal cabling works, including fitting of customer’s CPE.
- Undertake full testing of equipment to ensure it is fully operational and educate customer on product use.
- Promote positive reviews of customer experience and take opportunities to capture any leads from areas you are working in.
- Evening and Saturday working hours, where required and flexible to spend some nights away from home to support the wider installation programme.
Requirements
What you'll bring
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Be comfortable working at height and with some experience of manual labour.
- A driver's licence is essential
- As our engineers work in customer homes a disclosure check will be part of the selection process.
- Flexibility: Working away from home may be required a few nights per week
