Duties will include

 Preparation of quarterly management accounts and three year forecast projections

  • Preparation of quarterly finance reporting pack and presentation of results to the Board of Trustees
  • Preparation and monitoring of monthly cashflow forecasts
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC (includes calculation of a VAT adjustment for programmes fully funded by donations)
  • Setting and monitoring of annual income and expenditure budgets
  • Preparation of financial information to support fundraising applications and ad hoc funder requests
  • Review and authorisation of monthly payroll data before submission to external payroll administrator for processing
  • Supervision of financial data input to Sage to ensure financial records are accurate
  • Management of the charity’s stakeholder pension scheme
  • Provision of accounting support to Finance Administrator based in Skye
  • Monitor debtors and creditors ledgers to ensure customers are invoiced and suppliers are paid on a timely basis
  • Review and authorise monthly supplier payments list
  • Maintain banking relationship and ensure bank mandates are current
  • Ensure compliance with financial, charity and company legislation
  • Manage insurance contracts ensuring adequate cover and favourable renewal terms
  • Review and update of HR Systems and Staff handbook
  • Review of all policies
  • HR Management
  • Company secretary role

Skills  

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of financial management and control
  • A knowledge of current legislation – financial, charity, company
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • First class IT skills including Sage and Excel
  • Ability to manage a complex workload and to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • Financial qualification
  • Willingness to Travel 

 Desirable

  • An interest in supporting young people
  • An understanding of the voluntary sector
