Laxdale Court, Laxdale, Isle of Lewis, HS2 0GS HEALTH PROMOTION DEPARTMENT Health Improvement Practitioner Band 6: £26,565 - £35,577 pro rata plus Distant Islands Allowance £975 pro rata 37.5 hours per week Permanent Applications are invited for the above post based at Laxdale Court, Stornoway. You will be responsible for the provision of public health expertise and advice to increase the capacity of colleagues, partners and communities to improve health and reduce inequalities in line with Scottish Government priorities, local priorities and needs. You will act to develop, action, monitor and evaluate evidence based health promotion programmes to improve health in the Western Isles. This is a key role in contributing to the health improvement and public health agenda for the Western Isles. This post provides specialised health promotion support in activities aimed at promoting positive health and preventing ill health on a range of levels: individual, community, societal, organisational, structural/strategic, and in a specific setting e.g. NHS, community, schools, workplaces. This post would provide an ideal opportunity for a suitable person wishing to expand their experience of service development and partnership working. This post holder should be educated to degree level and have relevant experience in health improvement or public health, evidenced by a portfolio of work.
