Salary Scale: Band A £38,861 - £58,291 (pro-rata)

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Officer to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) based in the Dental Surgery at Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead. Duties will involve the provision of patient-centred clinical dental treatment. This opportunity will see you provide routine general dental service (GDS) under GDS regulations, to both registered and unregistered patients in a general dental practice setting.
Clinical experience of providing routine general dental services with a proven ability to adhere to GDS standards is essential. GDC registration as a dentist, evidence of participation in postgraduate dental education and successful listing with the Health Board is essential. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing while having the ability to deal with difficult situations or patients in a positive manner will be essential.
As all Dentists are required to join the NHS Highland Dental List, all non UK, EEA nationals will now be required to provide evidence of their knowledge of the English language. NHS Highland has determined this as overall band score of 7 with no section lower than 6.5. from the International English Language Test System.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
