This vacancy is no longer advertised
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Orkney's Community Mental Health Service.

A vacancy has arisen within the Older Adult part of the service. Within the Older Adult Mental Health Team the post holder will work as Community Mental Health Nurse alongside a more Senior Community Mental Health Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist, as well as a social worker and social care assistant colleagues. The post holder will also have a close working relationship with the wider integrated mental health team.

The Older Adult Mental Health agenda is hugely to the fore in Orkney given the disproportionately large, and increasing, number of older adults in Orkney compared to other areas of Scotland.

If you are a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a passion for supporting older adults to maintain positive mental health and achieve outcomes that are meaningful to them, and you are keen to work within a locality with a skilled, resourceful and experienced team of integrated practitioners, then this post will meet those requirements.

The successful candidate will be fully supported and supervised within this Band 5 role and encouraged to develop and consolidate skills and competencies. The post requires participation in an 'out of hours' on call rota – under supervision.

It is essential that the post holder has access to transport and if driving themselves, should hold a full driving licence. If by virtue of a disablement, an applicant has the qualifications to perform the post but cannot drive, then the possibility of adjustments to arrange transport will be considered.

Rise to the challenge and enjoy the opportunity! Orkney is a wonderful place to live and work and voted one of the happiest places to live in the UK. Orkney offers low pollution, low crime, excellent schools, good leisure facilities, unique wildlife and amazing scenery.
