HOTEL SERVICES DEPARTMENT Western Isles Hospital CHEF / COOK Band 3 £17,360 to £20,327 pro rata Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £975 per annum pro rata Permanent Shifts include 7.00am - 2.00pm & 12.30pm-7.30pm. We require a Chef/Cook to join our existing team. Duties will include producing and serving of high quality meals for patients, staff and external customers. You will also be required to interpret and manage all operational aspects of the kitchen and associated areas i.e. Deliveries / preparation / storage rooms, wash up, and also the supervision of staff working in these areas under the overall leadership of the Catering Supervisor Preferred experience within a commercial/industrial background would be a strong advantage but not necessary. You would be expected to have Comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene & H.A.C.C.P. regulations and have good all round food preparation, leadership & supervisory skills in order to carry out this job successfully. A degree of flexibility is essential as you will be expected to cover periods of high annual leave and sickness. Candidates would require City & Guilds 7061/2 or SVQ level 3 (catering) and a food hygiene certificate (Intermediate). Any other relevant certificates or training that candidates have done would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full time employment or up to six months for part time workers.
