Corporate Services Department: Procurement Location: Raigmore Post Title: Assistant Procurement Officer Full time 37.5hpw, permanent Grade: Band 4 Salary Scale: £19902 - £22683 It is an exciting time for the Procurement Department as we continue not only expand in size, but also to improve our processes enabling us to provide a more efficient and proactive service to the Board. Achieving an A+ rating in our last Scottish Government PCIP Assessment, we are a small team but one that has a huge role to play across the Board in terms of delivering best value as well as delivering significant savings in the current financial climate. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our developing and expanding team as it grows in confidence and strives to deliver the best possible service to all of our customers. Due to the continuing pressures on budgets across the public sector, the role that Procurement plays in helping to reduce spend and deliver best value is more important than ever. You must be willing to work in a flexible manner, accepting that not every day will be the same. Procurement has to be responsive to its customer's needs and this is best demonstrated by having helpful, supportive staff that put their customers first. The post will sit within our Contract Implementation Team whose remit is to ensure customer engagement for contract implementation and compliance, rationalisation of products and tracking savings utilising a wide range of contracts. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with NHS Highland staff, other Health Boards, and represent NHS Highland on a collaborative, regional and national level. Candidates will be able to work on their own initiative, developing positive relationships across the Board and with key suppliers ensuring best value, quality and accuracy in all that they do. Working to legislative, national and local policies and providing guidance and support to customers will be a key aspect of the job along with identifying opportunities to streamline processes and develop efficiencies. The role will also involve analysing and interrogating procurement data and running reports to monitor departmental KPIs, therefore, a sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
