About the role

 

A key role in mail processing plants, the Plant Engineering and Performance Manager holds responsibility for leading the engineering technical, system and automation performance teams, you will report directly to the plant manager.

 

A core member of the operational management team at the Aberdeen Mail Centre, you’ll ensure that our many technical assets meet the needs of the business each day and comply with our demanding policies, standards and strategies.

 

It’s an exciting challenge. One that will see you involved in everything from handling budgetary, Health & Safety responsibilities, continuous improvement and delivering technical training alongside leading a team of maintenance engineers and actively supporting their professional development.

 

About you

 

Having already worked within an engineering environment you will have knowledge of asset maintenance strategies  and cost base models for asset management, along with knowledge of the engineering structure and how to influence automation KPI’s.

 

You must have a proven record of people management skills and be able to lead a team of highly skilled professionals as well as communicate effectively at all levels within the plant.

 

Having proven experience of driving change through continuous improvement you will have working knowledge of associated methodology’s and tools.

 

You will have a qualification in engineering or scientific discipline (BTEC Level 4/ HNC or equivalent) or accreditation to the engineering council governing body. 

 

Experience in a unionised environment would be an advantage.

 

This shift is typically a day shift; however there is a need for flexibility to work across all days and shifts if required
