Fancy a change of scenery?
We're looking for a General or Acute Physician to join our team based at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin. Dr Gray's is a 160 bedded District General Hospital which lies at the heart of the community in Elgin, the county town of Moray. We're within easy reach of Inverness and Aberdeen giving good transport links to the rest of the UK as well as linking with Universities in both cities. We're biased of course, but it also has some of the best scenery in the UK and enjoys more sunny days per year than anywhere else in Scotland. It's an ideal base if you love the outdoor life, with mountain sports, fishing, sea kayaking, cycling, golf and many more all available nearby. Plus we have miles of deserted, golden beaches on our doorstep. The quality of life combined with excellent schools and sheer variety of outdoor activities makes it an ideal place to bring up a family.
Who are we looking for?
It could be you! We currently have 5 Consultants on the Acute Medical rota and are looking for a 6th. The specialties represented on the rota are Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine and Diabetes/Endocrinology. We are backed up by a full time Consultant Cardiologist and part time Consultants in Geriatric Medicine and Diabetes/Endocrinology. The main part of the role will be in the Acute Medical Team; however a complimentary specialty would be desirable and a subspecialty interest would be supported. Input into our outpatient service would be required as well as the ongoing medical care of medical inpatients. Depending on specialty interest, working across the Primary/Secondary Care interface may be negotiable. We'd welcome applications from people with partners who may also be seeking to relocate to jobs within the NHS – just let us know.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).
