Work Area Manager - Night Shift - Aberdeen
From £27,477 (dependent on experience), plus a potential 10% bonus and 22.5 days annual leave

In this key role at the frontline of our business, you’ll manage a team of processing staff, with overall responsibility of circa 12 people, ensuring the operation, delivering mail to over 29 million addresses in the UK, is running as efficiently as possible.
About the role
As a Work Area Manager, assuming accountability for operations across the specified work area on the Night Shift at the Aberdeen Mail Centre, you’ll lead the automation team, supporting them through our exciting transformation journey. Working closely alongside trade union representatives, you’ll ensure your team understands the commercial and competitive market we are in. They’ll need to be customer focussed, open to new technology and flexible to change.
Utilising your first-rate change management experience, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the performance of your team and for effectively maintaining the quality of service for our customers (productivity, automation and employee targets), along with guaranteeing the overall safety of the people you manage.
Furthermore, you will support the Night Shift Manager, and have a strong track record of delivering performance through your personal leadership of large teams in a changing operational environment. Through conducting regular one-to-one and team meetings, alongside analysing your area’s performance data and plans on a daily basis, you will imbed your stakeholder management skills and delivery process knowledge.
It takes more than organisational skills to be a manager. We’re looking for individuals with a passion for people. You’ll provide coaching and advice, while keeping the whole operation running smoothly. Your experience might be within retail, FMCG or logistics, but your ability to motivate, inspire and lead is what we’re looking for. You’ll have an eye for detail and be confident in efficiently managing resources and budgets – all with a view to ensuring your sector is working at its very best.

Shift patterns: You will be required to cover the Night Shift from Monday to Friday.
