POST: NORTH OF SCOTLAND/NOSCAN CLINICAL REPRESENTATIVE – NATIONAL CANCER QUALITYSTEERING GROUP (NCQSG) BASE: NORTH OF SCOTLAND THIS ADVERT IS FOR A SINGLE POST AND IS REPLICATED ON SHOW UNDER ALL NORTH OF SCOTLAND HEALTH BOARDS We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will regionally sit on the National Cancer Quality Steering Group on behalf of the 6 North of Scotland Health Boards. Applicants will be clinical leaders from any profession, have knowledge and experience in the provision and development of cancer services, and currently practising within one of the 6 North of Scotland Board areas. The appointment will be for a period of 2 years. The National Cancer Quality Steering Group (or NCQSG) ensures that all quality improving work streams relating to cancer being progressed by other sub-groups of the Scottish Cancer Taskforce and NHS organisations/government departments are co-ordinated and aligned with the national quality framework. Working closely with clinicians in all health and professional disciplines and NOSCAN Regional Cancer Advisory Forum (RCAF), you will represent and input an expert collective view on behalf of the clinical communities working across the 6 North of Scotland Health Boards to the ongoing work and further development of this key national group Applicants will command the respect of North of Scotland clinical community generally, but more especially members of NOSCAN regional Managed Clinical Networks and demonstrate commitment to the principles of collaborative working and the role of such regional groups in delivering improvements in cancer care across the region. The ability to work across traditional Health Board boundaries and organisations is essential, as is the ability to manage change within a complex environment. Depending on successful candidates domicile and travel arrangements, it is anticipated that the commitment required would amount to around 35-40 hours annually (or maximum of 10 sessions). Both NOSCAN RCAF and the North of Scotland Planning Group (NoSPG) have formally undertaken to support individuals who wish to take on regional aligned roles such as this: whilst it is the responsibility of current employing Boards to meet any additional costs that may be incurred, individual Board Chief Executives have agreed through NoSPG to recognise and support these roles in job plans. It should be noted that as per regional agreement, it is the responsibility of each applicant ahead of submitting an application, to obtain written approval from their current employer, that they will be fully supported to undertake this additional activity: no application will be progressed without written confirmation of this.
