We are looking for a enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor or individual willing to undertake Health Visitor training to become part of the Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay Children and Families Health Team. The post will be based in the Children and Families Health Team, under the direction of Team Leader. Health Visiting is a diverse, satisfying and challenging role that involves working with families and young children to provide help and direction in the first few years of life. The role suits nurses and midwives with an interest in health improvement, public health and working in the community.
This is an exciting time for our children and family services as a number of innovations and developments are implemented across maternity, health visiting and school nursing services to ensure that the children in Argyll and Bute have the best possible start in life. In addition Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership is fully committed to and integrated with the work of the Children and Young People's Collaborative which is continuing to enhance services to children and families
You will be either a qualified Health Visitor or First Level Registered Nurse or Midwife qualified to degree level with an interest in working with families and children.
You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and ability to work within a team or on your own initiative. A good knowledge of child protection systems and partnership approach with other agencies is essential.
You should possess a minimum of 1 years post registration experience, evidence of continuing professional development, good communication and IT skills.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
