Administrative Assistant – Revenues (Ref: ORK01405)

14 hours per week
Permanent
£18,112 - £19,097 pro rata (Including Distant Islands Allowance)

A part time vacancy exists for the post of Administrative Assistant (Revenues) within the Chief Executive's – Finance – Revenues and Benefits Service. You will work within a small office based team responsible for dealing with all aspects of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Scottish Welfare Fund applications. The main responsibilities include:

• the processing, payment and administration of applications for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and the Scottish Welfare Fund.
• verifying information received and ensuring that applicants receive the correct awards of benefit.
• responding to customer enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, email or correspondence.

You should have experience of dealing with the general public and have a good understanding of office systems and procedures. You will also have to follow and comply with legislative requirements, policies and working practices.

You should be educated to SVQ level 3 or equivalent level qualification. You should have experience of working with computerised office systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
