We are looking for a registered Children's Nurse to join the nursing team as a Senior Charge Nurse in Ward 2, Dr Gray's Hospital. This newly refurbished Children's Ward has a compliment of eight beds configured into four cubicles and a four bedded bay. The ward is located in a modern extension attached to the stunning original Hospital.
The ward admits patients from birth to the age of sixteen under medical and surgical specialties. There is a small Paediatric Outpatient facility that is located adjacent to the ward which comes under the ward management. The ward is located next to a small Maternity unit that has four special care baby cots which it maintains close ties with.
Ward 2 is part of the Women's and Children's Division of NHS Grampian and is managed from the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital. The Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital has fifty nine inpatient beds, including a four bedded HDU as well as a fifteen bedded DCU and dedicated Theatre Department, Emergency Department and Outpatient Department. The post holder will form part of the senior nursing team who develop and steer the direction of the Paediatric Nursing Service in Grampian. The post holder will be expected to attend regular meetings in person, or by video conference, as well as contribute to the senior nursing rota at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital. The hospital is passionate about development and values the individuals need for development and progression. The previous post holder completed the Patient Safety Fellowship and now supports Dr Grays Hospital and Paediatric Services as a Quality Improvement Facilitator.
Elgin has a lot to offer with the beautiful Moray Coast just a few miles away. Located between Inverness and Aberdeen, Elgin sits in the heart of Moray and boasts some of the fairest weather in the north of Scotland. Aberdeen is only 64 miles away and is a vibrant city with excellent shopping and entertainment facilities. Inverness, the capital of the highlands, is only 34 miles away and both cities can be accessed by rail. For the more adventurous the Cairngorms National Park is within driving distance and is well known for its winter sports facilities.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
