SSE Generation Renewables Operations Teams are primarily engaged in monitoring and maintaining renewable plant. The works are multifaceted maintenance activities and seek to maintain plant in a safe and efficient manner. The Programmes Team deliver projects and have a fantastic opportunity for a bright, ambitious student to join the team for a summer placement.

During the placement you will assist Renewable Civil Engineers with project management tasks, asset inspections, and surveying associated with the Business' civil assets. These assets include dams, tunnels, aqueducts, high pressure pipelines, wind turbine bases and bridges. You will be office based but be expected to work on sites with other team members throughout the Renewable Generation area . These sites can be in remote locations which are accessed only by foot. Following training you will be expected to access confined spaces and work at height.

For this placement we are looking for a Civil Engineering undergraduate (in any year of study) with strong data analysis skills. You should show a genuine interest in SSE and the prospect of a long term future with us.

The ability to interpret numerical and contractual data is paramount as well as effective communication of your conclusions. Interpersonal skills are vital as you will work with various teams within the Renewable Operations Business as well as other internal and external stakeholders. Succeed in the internship and you could be considered for a place on our Graduate Development Programme, starting once you have completed you studies.
