Salary: £22,416 - £35,763 (Pro-rata for part time)
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education

This post is and considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

This post will commence in August. Although .77, it is envisaged that this post will be topped up by .23 temporary for at least a school year thereby making the post 1fte.
To provide support to staff and pupils to identify and address additional support needs, through a range of assessment and intervention strategies, within the five roles of Support for Learning:
Teaching individuals and groups
Providing specialist services
Staff development and training
To work co-operatively with the class teachers to identify and address additional support needs through GIRFEC
To teach individuals and groups with associated preparation and planning
To promote a range of methodologies for effective teaching and learning.
To have experience of working with bi-lingual learners and associated agencies
To contribute to the planning for individual learners through Individualised Educational Programmes and Additional Support Plans.
To support teaching staff with the administration and recording of assessments
To liaise with the following to provide effective support for individual learnerspupils parents/carers school management class teachers support staff other authority staff
• other agencies
