Job Description

You will be required to assist in the provision of a high quality out of school care service in line with Care Inspectorate Regulations and guidelines.

Experience of working with children in a supervisory capacity and the ability to relate to children in a positive manner is essential, together with a creative and enthusiastic approach. You will have a Willingness to undertake further relevant training. SVQ Level II qualification in Playwork (or equivalent) and experience of working as part of a team is desirable as is food hygiene and first aid certificates.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £8.33 per hour.

Hours: Working 24.75 hours per week, term time shifts are as follows:
Monday 07:30 - 09:00 and 13:45 - 18:00
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 07:30 - 09:00 and 15:00 - 18:00
Friday 07:30 - 9:00 and 14:00 - 18:00.
During holidays and in-service days you will working block shifts (approx. 5h a day), Monday to Friday. 

Hours: As and when required

Location: Please note this post will be based in Banchory. You will be working in either the Banchory Community Learning Centre of Hill of Banchory Family Centre.
