The Department of Care, Health and Sport wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic lecturer with the Sport & Fitness team at Falkirk Campus to work with learners across SCQF levels 4 to 8.
You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist areas of Sports Coaching/Development; Fitness, Health & Exercise and Active Leisure. You will work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies.
Ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date, you will contribute to the development of elements of provision and enhance students' learning through providing subject support. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.
You will be educated to at least degree level, or equivalent, within the specialist areas of Sports Coaching/Development/Management/Science or have relevant significant industry experience. Ideally, you will have experience in Further Education or adult education. Ideally, you will hold Assessor and Verifier qualifications (A1/V1) and a Professional Development Award in Teaching or Teaching Qualification (Further Education) or equivalent, or have a willingness to work towards achieving these.
You will have experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills. You will also possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and a sound understanding of quality enhancement processes and standards. It would be highly desirable to have knowledge and experience in delivering HNC and National Qualifications Sport & Fitness related subjects.
