To develop and lead a comprehensive communications, publicity and stakeholder engagement plan for the service (Roads & Streetscene).


Corporate Responsibilities

To manage/deliver the Service in accordance with the Council's corporate policies and procedures and relevant strategy provision. To manage/deliver the service outcomes, in the most efficient and effective way, that delivers the Council's Strategic Priorities within the Council Plan and contributes to the production of Directorate Plans. To manage and monitor Capital and Revenue budgets as assigned and contribute to budget development. To lead, or contribute to, the preparation of cross-service business development plans, as required. To ensure the effective management and leadership of employees, where appropriate. To prepare and co-ordinate reports for the Council, its Committees or working parties and to attend these meetings as required. To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

Develop, co-ordinate and implement an information and publicity plan which will: Improve awareness of objectives, ambitions, challenges and performance Bring greater consistency to the promotion of the services Improve stakeholders' perceptions of the services Enhance the public profile and satisfaction levels with the services In collaboration with corporate communications, lead and facilitate information and publicity activity to provide a more strategic, integrated and consistent approach to communicating and promoting the service. Work collaboratively to develop and deliver targeted, professional and creative promotional materials and public information in relation to operations. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Work collaboratively to source, collate and write information and publicity materials for internal and external use. Anticipate factors which may impact on the Council's reputation and advise senior officers accordingly. Work collaboratively to project manage external consultants and ensure a consistent and professional approach to any information and publicity materials developed. Manage a portfolio of work ensuring adherence to communications protocols Assist in monitoring the communications budget. Assist with the implementation and delivery of the Council's Digital Engagement Strategy, including contributing posts and updates and monitoring audience penetration and reaction. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of plans.






Education and Qualifications

Degree or professional qualification in an appropriate communications discipline, or equivalent
equivalent experience
