Due to the continued expansion within our service; additional temporary opportunities have arisen for part-time Rehab Carer posts for a period of up to one year; after which time posts will be reviewed.
As a Rehab Carer, you will be involved in the Rehabilitation of Service Users within their own homes to assist them in achieving an optimum level of independence with aspects of daily living. You must be an experienced carer with commitment, patience and an understanding of ageing and disability and their effect on people's lives. You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working and written skills.
The posts will involve short-term provision of care to the services delivered through the 24/7 Team to include, Rehabilitation at Home, Crisis Care, and Home Care Service Users throughout the Falkirk Council area.
You will receive training in the Rehabilitation of Service Users by ReACH Falkirk Occupational Therapists, with whom you will work closely in order to achieve best outcomes for service users.
You must hold a full driving licence; and have the ability to travel throughout Falkirk Council area; as a result, the 24/7 Team have a pool of Council vehicles available to the Rehab Care staff, in order to facilitate the delivery of care services across all geographical areas.
You are required to commit to a rostered shift working pattern including evenings and weekends over a 7 day period; which consists of 14 days worked over a 21 day period; and involving early and back shifts; the current shift times being 7.30am until 1.50pm; and 3.25pm until 9.45pm.
The contracted hours of the post are 29.6 hours per week, but this will be averaged over a 3 week roster period. The shift pattern is currently 3 days on, 1 day off, 4 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on, 3 days off.
All Rehab Carers are paid for every minute of their shift including any meal breaks; this is necessary to allow all emergency situations to be handled at any time.
