Teacher of PE
Edinburgh Secure Services, Edinburgh

Salary: £22,416 - £35,763 (Pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 17.5 

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This is a permanent post for a part time PE Teacher, 17.5hrs per week (0.5FTE) to meet our normal complement of teachers. Actual hours/days are negotiable.

We are looking for a teacher to work within the school at Edinburgh Secure Services, Howdenhall. The post holder will be primarily responsible for teaching Physical Education, along with normal teaching duties.

Edinburgh Secure Services provides secure accommodation, residential care and education for young people with complex social, emotional, behavioural and other additional support needs. The school follows the Curriculum for Excellence guidelines within the National Qualifications framework.

Experience of working in an educational environment with young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs is essential.


This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
