SVQ Assessors (Childhood Practice) x 3

Full Time - 35 hours per week

Main Location: Sighthill Campus

Temporary from 14 August 2017 until 29 June 2018

Salary: £22,108 - £24,822 per annum (appointment is usually made on the first point of the scale)

 

The Childhood Practice department at Edinburgh College require 3 qualified and enthusiastic SVQ Assessors to join our team. We deliver across 3 campuses - Granton, Sighthill and Midlothian.

Our SVQ Assessors are all based at our Sighthill campus however the ability to travel between campuses to work with students, attend team meeting and quality activities is essential.

These full time posts (35 hours per week) are fixed term from 14 August 2017 until 29 June 2018 and are part of the Scottish Government's "A blueprint for 2020 – The Expansion of Early Learning and Childcare in Scotland"

The successful applicant will:

Be responsible for the assessment of SVQ Social Services Children and Young People candidates, adhering to the SQA Assessment Strategy and Edinburgh College's quality standards and procedures. Carrying out regular visits, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with candidates from diverse backgrounds and provide monthly reports on their progress. You will maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback using College procedures and technology, meeting deadlines as required.

You must have a minimum of 3 years working in a Childhood Practice setting and have a proven track record in the assessment and delivery of SVQ in the workplace. You will be an experienced Childcare practitioner with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines with little supervision. You will be pro-active, flexible, and be committed to CPD and the success of our students.

You must hold Professional Qualification related to Childhood Practice at a minimum of HNC and/or SVQ level 3 and an A1/Land D assessor award are essential. ICT skills – Word, Excel, Outlook – are essential.

You must hold a full, clean, British driving license.

The successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
