SVQ Assessors (Dental Nursing) x 2
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Main Location: Granton Campus
Temporary from 14 August 2017 until 29 June 2018
Salary: £22,108 - £24,822 per annum (appointment is usually made on the first point of the scale)
The Dental Nursing department at Edinburgh College require 2 qualified and enthusiastic SVQ Assessors to join our team. These posts are based at Granton however the ability to travel between campuses to work with students, attend team meeting and quality activities is essential.
These full time posts (35 hours per week) are fixed term from 14 August 2017 until 29 June 2018.
You must be registered with the GDC as a Dental Nurse – please supply your GDC registration number on your application.
You will be responsible for the assessment of SVQ 3 Dental Nursing, adhering to the SQA Assessment Strategy and Edinburgh College's quality standards and procedures. Carrying out regular visits in dental practices, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with candidates from diverse backgrounds and provide monthly reports on their progress. You will maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback using College procedures and technology, meeting deadlines as required.
You must have a minimum of 3 years working in a Dental Nursing setting and a proven track record in the assessment and delivery of SVQ in the workplace. You will be an experienced Dental Care Practitioner with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines with little supervision. You will be pro-active, flexible, and be committed to CPD and the success of our students. A professional qualification in Dental Nursing at minimum of HNC and / or SVQ level 3 is essential. A1/Land D assessor awards are desirable. ICT skills – Word, Excel and Outlook – are essential. You must hold a full, clean, British driving license.
The successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
