Salary: £19,818 - £23,688 per annum, plus additional payments depending on exact shifts worked.
The post holder will be part of a team which offers respite, behavioural support and outreach to vulnerable babies, children and young people who have a learning disability and/or challenging behaviour and/or severe and complex health needs and/or life-limiting conditions, and their families.
You will be required to undertake lone working and undertake tasks such as care planning, attendance at reviews and Child Protection Case Conferences, manual handling, medication administration including emergency medication, feeding and personal care tasks. The post also involves offering emotional and practical support to the family at times of crisis.
The post will be based within the Disability Family Support Service, but will require worker to work on their own or jointly with colleagues within families' homes and in the community, or within the weekend respite service.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
